In the finance industry, the rapid march of globalization across todayfs business landscape requires both precise and timely compliance with a host of standards and regulations. A short list of these would include BIS regulations, international accounting standards, SOX, and anti-money laundering rules, just to name a few. Whatfs more, these standards and regulations are frequently changing, with each successive update yielding a tougher set of demands. On the operations level, meanwhile, firms must still fulfill their original mandate, namely to boost profitability and raise shareholder value by pursuing economies of scale and enhancing operational efficiency. That businesses must effectively confront the complex management challenges they face is a matter few would debate. Yet the expertise needed to meet these new demands is not easily assembled, and only a very limited pool of human resources possess both the skills and knowledge to swiftly and deftly handle these difficult issues. |
